A painting class in Munich — learn to paint from scratch

Brush in hand, brain off. 🎨

Want to paint again in Munich — or try it for the very first time? Silly Art, the painting department of Silly Club, runs painting workshops as a roaming pop-up at changing venues across the city. Canvas, acrylics and brushes are ready for you, and an artist guides you step by step. No art degree, no judging, no pressure — and you take your own painting home at the end.

A painting class in Munich — learn to paint from scratch

What a Silly Club painting class is

This isn't art school and it isn't a lecture. You decide what to paint — your own motif, your own style — and the artist shows you how to get there: composition, mixing colours, layers, details. Because we work in small groups, there's room for your questions. We paint acrylic on canvas: beginner-friendly, forgiving and quick to dry.

  • Your own motif — guided step by step
  • Acrylic on canvas, beginner-friendly
  • Small groups, real personal attention
  • Your own ideas expressly welcome

Learning to paint with zero experience

"I can't paint at all" is the sentence we hear most — and the best reason to come. Painting is a craft, and crafts can be learned: how to block in a shape, how to mix colours instead of using them straight from the tube, how a few strokes create depth. We show you those basics in the workshop and you apply them right away on your own canvas. That's also why a painting class works as a time-out: for a couple of hours you think about nothing but colour and shape, and the rest of the day fades out.

How your painting workshop works

Pick a pop-up date in Munich and grab your spot. When you arrive, your place is set with a canvas, paints and an apron — bring nothing but an idea, and even that can appear once you're there. Then you paint, chat and sip. Acrylic dries fast, so your painting leaves with you the same evening.

  • 1. Pick a date in Munich
  • 2. Come and paint — materials are ready
  • 3. Take your painting home, straight onto the wall

What's included

No extra material fees. Everything you need to paint is part of the workshop:

  • Canvas, acrylic paints & brushes
  • Apron — your clothes stay clean
  • Guidance from an artist
  • A drink & good vibes

Who it's for

For beginners who have never touched a canvas. For returners who last tried at school. As a date where you actually talk, unlike the cinema. As part of a birthday or hen do. As a team event that isn't another dinner. And explicitly solo too: come alone, paint in peace, and leave with a canvas and a few new faces.

Painting pop-ups across Munich

Silly Club has no fixed studio — we pop up at changing venues across Munich, from cafés to concept stores. That makes every date a small event in a special place, and you get to see another corner of the city while you paint. Upcoming dates are on our pop-up page. Join Silly Club for free and the new dates land in your inbox.
